Decorate a Bra

Design your own bra and you can help us make a major statement in the fight against breast and cervical cancers.

Donated bra artwork is put on display at our Gallery of Bras, then auctioned off to raise money. Proceeds pay for mammograms, cervical screenings or grants for related equipment, projects or programs.

The Gallery of Bras is one of the highlights of the annual Bras for the Cause Gala. Artwork is also available for viewing during a sneak preview open to the public.

FAQs

Who can decorate or design a bra?

Anyone! It could be you, your relatives or friends, a professional or budding artist, a celebrity or someone who simply wants to participate in a meaningful way. Bra artwork comes in from across the country. More than 100 entries were submitted last year.

What are the guidelines?

There is no limit to what you can do. Your bra can be simple, complex, decorated, designed, dramatic or whimsical. You choose your own inspiration and what materials to use.

Is it a contest?

No, although participating artists can attend the Gallery of Bras Artists' Reception prior to the Gala and vote on their top choices, which may be included on note cards or other items produced by Bras for the Cause. In addition, a "popular vote" is open to all visitors who stop by the Gallery of Bras.

How are the bras sold?

Bras are auctioned off. The top Artists' Choices are auctioned as standalones, while the others are coupled with exciting packages such as travel, vacations, goods, services, etc. Artists' Choices are also featured in a calendar, note cards and other fundraiser items.

What happens to the money raised?

All funds raised go toward fulfilling the mission of Bras for the Cause to help screen, detect, treat and cure breast and cervical cancers.

Do I have to use any special bra?

No, you can make your own, buy one, whatever works best for you.

How do I register?

Register online or download the registration form to fill out and send by email to the Bra Chair. You will receive an email confirmation (or confirmation by mail if you registered by mail).

When and where does my finished bra go?

Your creation needs to be delivered by October 1st. Include your name, confirmation (see above), and the title of your bra artwork (if you did not include it when you registered).
